Portrait Session : Take 2

I felt a need to do another photo shoot with Matthias to try and get his "official" baby portrait.  Now, of course, I have the problem of only needing one shot, but getting oh so many adorable photos.

Please tell me which one you like best.  I could use all the help I can get with this.

Milestone Portrait

It's that time already.  It is time to get the official baby photo of Matthias to put on our wall of baby portraits.  I did a little session with him yesterday, but am thinking that I may need to do another one?  Here is what I got that may be useable. Please let me know what you think.

A Mother's Morning

According to Laura Numeroff...

If you have a baby who needs to nurse.
You will scoop him up to nurse him after breakfast.
He will need a diaper change.
So you will change his diaper.
On the way to throwing the diaper away, you notice that the cupboard is dirty.
So you will go to grab the washcloth to clean it.
The washcloth is on the half washed table,
so you will finish cleaning the table.
After you clean the table you need to put the tablecloth back on.
When you return the washcloth you will notice the breakfast dishes are still in the sink,
so you will put them in the dishwasher.
It will need to be run,
so you open the cupboard to grab the detergent.
When you close the cupboard you will notice that it is still dirty,
So you will wash it off.
While you are washing it off, the baby will fuss.
Which will remind you that he needs to be nursed.
And chances are, when you go to nurse him, he will also need a diaper change....

No joke, this is how my mind sometimes works, and seriously,  this is exactly what my Friday morning looked like for about 15 minutes.   Which reminds me, I need to go make some more wipes...

Living With Boys

I am starting a new series that you are more than welcome to join me on.  Every Friday I am going to post a single picture of what it looks like to live with a houseful of boys.  Let us start celebrating our lives of being completely outnumbered shall we?

School Days Never End

Attempting to get a group shot on some cod fish proves to be rather difficult.

Ahhh, the beauty of home schooling your children.   On Friday, May 25th we successfully completed the book work for our school year.  Something that both the boys and I are very happy about.  I am convinced that God created the Wintertime so that we could focus on reading, writing, math and other book related topics.  The Summertime is God's gift to us to learn how to grow our own food, and work with our hands.  Our school year, as a result, reflects the seasons.  Thus, any official book work is done by Memorial Day.  We still read and learn from books, but spending 2 -3 hours a day engrossed in books is not a requirement.  As it turns out this year, we celebrated the end of the book season with a game on Friday, and brought in a Summer of learning through life with a surprise visit to the Maine State Aquarium on Tuesday.  The boys had a fantastic time, learned a lot, and enjoyed their surprise in every way possible.

The scallops were so fun, they kept splashing water at us.  The boys loved it!

Matthias was so excited to touch the star fish.  I am actually trying to keep him from grabbing it too tightly.  The lady was very impressed with how content and gentle he was with the animals.

The gentleman showed Eli how to hold the crab. He did really well.

What are your Summer plans?  How do you keep learning active through the busy gardening months?  Do you do some Summer reading?  I think that Eli and Siah will be doing some specific reading this Summer, especially if this rain keeps visiting us.
